THE CHALLENGE

Design an experience that would increase employee self-efficacy (the belief in one’s ability motivate and mobilise resources to achieve a given task) in offering a free financial health check.

THE BE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

We created a series of 2 day workshops demonstrating proactive conversations using our techniques such as Forum Theatre, Visualisation, Rehearse for Reality and Film. These approaches demonstrated proactive conversations with customers and gave participants an opportunity to practice and reinforce these changed behaviours in a safe and supported environment.

Working in partnership with MGSM we measured the impact of the experience on employees the outcome of how many financial health check were performed.

Performance statistics were gathered by MGSM before the workshops and 8 months later. The results were clear. The number of appointments being made by our pilot group increased by 34% compared to the control group.

The study demonstrated that using narrative, theater and cognitive behavioural techniques provide a striking alternative to traditional training approaches. It is a powerful outcome and one that has become a mission critical task for many organisations proving that drama based learning experiences are a novel and impactful way for learning and development professionals to contribute to any corporate objective.
