Diversity

Project Title: This Starts With Me
Client: Astra Zeneca
Content Area: Diversity

This Starts with Me” program was created for AstraZeneca to make sure that employees not only understand what diversity means but live the 'values' everyday.
The first phase of the film was designed to introduce the audience to the broad issues of diversity and to facilitate discussion about what it means to them. After which, the second phase leads the audience into a deeper understanding and appreciation of the complexity of diversity, which was then used to for discussion and to air grievances within the company. The fly on the wall, fast paced documentary style was employed to captivate the audience from a range of departments and backgrounds. The DVD was used in a facilitated roll out strategy designed by Be Learning that was used throughout Australia.

Values / Culture

Project Title: Together with Coates
Client: Coates
Content Area: Values & Culture

This award winning film is inspired by the down to earth Australian values of employees at Coates and National Hire. After a merger between these two companies in 2008, Coates wanted a tool to communicate the Core Values of the new organisation. Be Learning Films created this 25-minute film to get the message of the company’s values across in their own language. The DVD comes complete with main film, extra feature interviews with characters and facilitation guides to assist managers leading discussions to explore these values in action with employees.

Safety / Compliance

Project Title: Between the Flags
Client: Woolworths
Content Area: Compliance

In 2009 Australia’s biggest retail chain, The Woolworths Group, launched its new Compliance department to 180 000 staff. They asked Be Learning Films to create a film that demystified the issue of compliance and launched the department’s core vision Between the Flags. This was achieved with a very serious “lightness of touch” in three scenarios. In the first scenario, an interview with the CEO presented the through line of the film. In the second, a contestant in an in-house Reality Show has a compliance issue, highlighting the department’s core vision. The third scenario is an in-house compliance Talent Show.

Ethics

Project Title: Make the Right Choice
Client: Integral Energy
Content Area: Ethics

Integral Energy’s Make the Right Choice film was based on materials written by Managing Values - a national consultancy working in the areas of workplace values, business ethics, organizational performance and sustainability. Managing Values used the film as part of a learning and development program that facilitated discussion and understanding of the company’s ethical values.
Be Learning Films role was producing and writing the creative content, as well as making the material accessible across a range of platforms. The film incorporates interviews with staff, narrative story lines and an eLearning “Choose Your Own Adventure” module which made the content accessible to a disparate target audience – employees in the field and in the office.

Safety / Compliance

Project Title: Safe
Client: Dan Murphys & BWS
Content Area: Safety & Compliance

“SAFE” was created for two liquor brands within Australia’s biggest supermarket chain Woolworths. It was to highlight three issues: Staff Safety, Loss Prevention and the Responsible Service of Alcohol, while expressing the overall corporate theme of “CARE: for yourself; your co-workers; and your customers”. The target audience was mostly male 20 -50 year olds. Be Learning Films used slapstick humour to make serious repercussions more palatable. The narrative connects the audience to the learning objectives through a strong main character who experiences the full gamut of difficulties they could encounter at work. The film was accompanied by a facilitation guide for managers to enable them to use the film in opening up conversations with staff.

Induction / Customer Service

Project Title: Induction DVDs
Client: Woolworths
Content Area: Induction / Customer Service

Woolworths Supermarkets division asked Be Learning Films to create a series of induction DVD’s for their Gen Y audience of 16-24 year olds and engage them in their customer service vision. Be Learning Films adopted a mockumentary approach - our presenter talks directly to camera as if  it was the inductee. We take the audience on a journey through the store where they meet the various characters from different departments. Some of these characters, now familiar with the target audience, have appeared in subsequent Woolworths training DVD’s.
